Social Services Community Facilitator at the Government of Nunavut
The Government of Nunavut is actively seeking dedicated individuals to fulfill the role of Social Services Community Facilitator (SSCF) within the Department of Family Services. This position is crucial for enhancing the welfare of communities across various regions, including Arctic Bay, Arviat, Baker Lake, Cambridge Bay, Igloolik, Iqaluit, Kinngait, Kugaaruk, Naujaat, Qikiqtarjuaq, and Taloyoak.
Role Overview: As a SSCF, you will be instrumental in fostering collaboration among diverse professional groups to assist individuals and families in need. Your responsibilities will encompass prevention and intervention strategies, adoption processes, child welfare initiatives, and serving as a community liaison.
Department Insights: The Department of Family Services is committed to implementing programs aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in Nunavut. This includes a focus on child and family services, career advancement, adoption processes, and initiatives to alleviate poverty.
Qualifications:
- A Diploma in Social Work with hands-on experience in child protection, or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience
- Possession of a valid class 5 driver's license (or the ability to obtain one within four months)
- Completion of a Vulnerable Sector check
- Capability to secure and uphold a Child and Family Services Appointment
Proficiency in Inuktut, English, or French is essential, with familiarity with Inuit communities and cross-cultural environments being a valuable asset.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Attractive salary range: $93,582 to $106,208 annually
- Standard work hours: 37.5 hours per week
