Community Communications Liaison

The City of Iqaluit is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Community Communications Liaison. This position plays a vital role in connecting residents with city services and support, and coordinating city communications and customer service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with residents and promote city services
  • Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with city departments to ensure residents have a positive experience with the City
  • Assist in the development of materials for internal and external audiences, including writing for the website and social media platforms
  • Strengthen Iqaluit as an Inuit and cultural capital by promoting Inuit culture in the workplace and community
Requirements:
  • College diploma or university degree in Communications, Cultural Studies, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years' work experience in a municipal, territorial, or federal government or not-for-profit environment involving communications, programs, or service delivery
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate confidently in Inuktitut and English
  • Proficiency in MS Suite and organizational skills with file management systems experience
