Community Mental Health Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Language Coordinator to join our team at the Nunavut Government. The successful candidate will provide leadership and support to mental health and addictions clinicians in providing community-based services to clients who require Community Assisted Treatment Orders (CATOs) and Community Support Plans (CSPs).
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and support to mental health and addictions clinicians in providing community-based services to clients who require CATOs and CSPs.
- Ensure that community and hospital-based mental health and addictions staff are supported in the integration of CATPs and CSPs within the continuum of mental health and addiction services.
- Support clients and their care managers in navigating processes of the Mental Health Act legislation and transitions from inpatient psychiatric services to community-based services affiliated with the Mental Health Act legislation.
- Conduct stakeholder consultations with GN departments, social service providers, health care professionals, healers, Elders, and community groups.
- Recognized undergraduate degree in social work, nursing, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of current work experience in mental health including case management and experience working within small community settings and with the service delivery across tiers of mental health intervention (promotion, prevention, intervention, crisis, and system navigation).
- Fluency in Inuktitut would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
- Nunavut Inuit who self-identify as being enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement in accordance with the Priority Hiring Policy.
