About the Role

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our dynamic Ottawa office. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading transportation-infrastructure projects, including Class Environmental Assessments, TPAP, preliminary designs, detailed designs, intersection, or corridor improvement studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on transportation-infrastructure projects
  • Transportation Engineering task lead for large-scale projects
  • Review of preliminary and detailed design drawings, reviewing and supporting report-writing
  • Manage staff productivity and utilization
  • Mentor staff and project teams
  • Supervise staff and participate directly in the completion of projects
  • Foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus
  • Lead and direct business development activities in Ottawa and GTHA
  • Project coordination between other design disciplines, management of project schedule and budget
  • Client liaison
  • Participation in the management of the Transportation Group in the Ottawa Office

Requirements

  • Bachelor's University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience as well as 8+ years of Transportation Engineering
  • Roadway preliminary or detailed design experience
  • P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) preferred
  • Experience with City of Ottawa, MTO, Region of Peel, York Region, Durham Region, and Halton Region are an asset
  • Experience with preliminary and detailed design of intersections, arterial roads, highways, and freeways
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads, and Civil3D an asset
  • Understanding of traffic engineering principles
  • Familiarity with Ottawa and/or GTHA market conditions, public and private sector client base in and around Ottawa/GTHA
  • Familiar with contract administration, construction inspection, and preparation of reports
  • Ability to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients
  • Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with commitment to excellence and high-quality work
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
