Position Overview: The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role is crucial in fostering a positive workplace culture, enhancing staff performance, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and selection.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as the point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Implement and oversee employee engagement and retention programs.
- Performance Management:
- Develop and manage performance appraisal systems.
- Provide coaching and support to managers on performance management and employee development.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate appropriate programs.
- Compliance and Administration:
- Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal employment laws.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Compensation and Benefits:
- Administer employee compensation and benefits programs.
- Conduct salary reviews and benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation packages.
- Manage benefits enrollment and address employee questions about benefits.
- Health and Safety:
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety training and manage incident reporting and investigation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in the construction or roofing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- CHRP or equivalent HR certification is preferred.
