Join Magellan Aerospace, a global leader in the aerospace industry, as a Human Resources Manager. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in overseeing all human capital aspects for our division or function.
About the Role
- Lead human resources activities, policies, procedures, and programs for the division or function, collaborating with the Corporate organization.
- Manage staffing, employee development and training, performance management, labor relations, and employee relations investigations.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce absenteeism and turnover, and improve employee engagement.
- Investigate accidents and grievances, and document reports for management or third-party providers.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Contribute to and drive the implementation of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage employee relations and engagement activities, including representing the company at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Investigate and document employee complaints and grievances.
- Develop and implement training programs to improve employee performance and engagement.
- Collaborate with management to determine areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
- Participate in compensation and benefit administration, including conducting wage surveys and analyzing department budgets.
- Supervise clerical workers and provide guidance and support as needed.
Requirements
- A combination of 5-7 years management experience and 5-10 years experience in human resources, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Post-secondary education in Business Management/Commerce and/or certification in Human Resource Management.
- Professional designation such as CHRL, CIPD, SHRM.
- Practical knowledge of employee/labour relations, recruitment, compensation/benefits, and applicable HR legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, and sound judgment.
- A willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required by the demands of the role.
