Unit Clerk, Op-Oncology Clinic Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Unit Clerk to join our Op-Oncology Clinic team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Transcribe and process clinician orders, utilizing our electronic health record system to schedule tests and services.
- Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients, coordinating appointments and communicating with patients and healthcare teams.
- Gather patient information for medical appointments, facilitating efficient patient flow and preparing documents for clinical teams.
- Perform receptionist duties, including greeting patients, registering them, and responding to inquiries.
- Participate in the onboarding and orientation of staff, supporting student clinical practicums as required.
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent experience in a related field.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively, demonstrating empathy and compassion.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard 40 wpm and operate related equipment.
