About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Unit Clerk to join our team at BC Cancer – Kelowna. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcribe and process clinician orders, ensuring accurate and timely completion of requisitions for tests or services.
  • Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients, coordinating interrelated appointments and communicating related instructions to patients.
  • Gather patient information for medical appointments, facilitating efficient patient flow and preparing documents for the clinical team.
  • Perform a variety of receptionist duties, including greeting and registering patients, answering the telephone, and responding to inquiries.
Requirements
  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work and operate related equipment.
  • Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
