The Patient Care Aide plays a vital role in the delivery of patient care in the Op-Oncology Clinic at BC Cancer in Kelowna, BC. This position involves performing a variety of tasks to support the care of patients, including measuring and recording vital signs, cleaning and stocking treatment areas, escorting patients, and assisting with clerical duties.
- Direct and transport patients within the clinic and to other areas as needed.
- Clean and stock examining rooms and other designated areas with necessary supplies.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment as directed.
- Perform general service duties, including picking up and delivering items, answering telephones, and photocopying documents.
- Assist patients with changing into and out of gowns as necessary.
- Relay patient concerns and information to the healthcare team.
Requirements:
- Grade 10 completion.
- Graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Registration with the BC Care Aide Community Health Worker Registry.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Organizational and time management skills.
