Key Responsibilities:

  • The Key Account Manager for Manitoba will be tasked with forecasting, developing promotional and sales strategies, and managing customer relationships to achieve sales targets while overseeing the Field Sales Team.
  • This role requires collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to enhance sales in Manitoba through strategic portfolio management.
  • The primary goal is to address the daily needs of the market and sales team, secure provincial listings, and obtain marketing approvals, all aimed at boosting the sales of Arterra Wines Canada's portfolio.
  • Direct accountability for meeting annual sales volume objectives and providing accurate forecasts is essential.
  • Employ the Arterra Wines Canada sales methodology to increase volume, revenue, and market share while ensuring strong EBIT and ROI.
  • As the main point of contact and expert, this role will facilitate effective communication with stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of plans and promotional strategies.
  • Thorough knowledge of MBLL, including policies, regulations, and key personnel, is required.
  • The Key Account Manager will develop the MBLL Strategic Account Plan, identifying opportunities and risks while crafting category strategies to exceed sales volume expectations.
  • Building and maintaining robust relationships with key MBLL contacts as a trusted supplier is crucial.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with internal departments such as Customer Solutions, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Consumer Insights will drive MBLL results and maximize opportunities.
  • Creation and delivery of compelling, data-driven category presentations with detailed analysis will be part of the role.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the new product development process for the Manitoba market, including timely negotiations for new product listings.
  • Conducting monthly portfolio performance reviews and bi-annual business reviews with both customers and internal teams is expected.
  • Lead the annual planning process for the Manitoba market.
  • Oversee inventory management for MBLL, working with the Sales Operations Manager to influence buying patterns.
  • Manage inventory and forecasting to meet the demands of targeted initiatives.
  • Conduct post-promotional analyses to assess effectiveness.
  • Set and manage annual goals and monthly targets for the Field Sales Team.
  • Provide coaching and development for the Field Sales Team.
  • Participate in industry-related events, such as wine festivals.

Qualifications:

  • A University Degree or equivalent, preferably in Business, Sales, or Marketing.
  • A proven track record in a similar role with 3-5 years of experience.
  • WSET or ISG Certification is advantageous.
  • Experience in Key Account Management at a Head Office level is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Sales and Negotiation.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and polished presentation skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively engage with customers and colleagues.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, and disciplined.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, along with web-based tools.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • A genuine interest and passion for the beverage alcohol industry is essential.
  • Ability to lift wine cases weighing up to 45 pounds is necessary.
