We are a leading technology company that specializes in providing innovative solutions for transportation and logistics. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Transportation Manager.
Job SummaryThe Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department, ensuring that all shipments are delivered on time and in good condition. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with our team and external partners.
Key Responsibilities- Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of our transportation department, including the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods.
- Supply Chain Management: Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain, including the management of inventory and logistics.
- Financial Management: Manage the financial aspects of our transportation department, including budgeting and cost control.
- Team Management: Supervise and train a team of transportation professionals, including drivers, dispatchers, and logistics coordinators.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to our clients, including responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Compliance: Ensure that all transportation operations are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including those related to safety, security, and environmental protection.
- Education: A college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a transportation or logistics role.
- Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Security and Safety: Basic security clearance.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, flexible, initiative, judgement, organized, reliable, team player, dependable, integrity, due diligence.
