Transportation Manager

We are a leading company in the transportation and logistics industry, dedicated to providing exceptional services to our clients. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Transportation Manager.

The Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes evaluating daily operations, monitoring department performance, and planning and organizing daily operations.

• Evaluate Daily Operations: Assess the performance of our transportation department and identify areas for improvement.
• Monitor Department Performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that our transportation department is meeting its goals and objectives.
• Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans to ensure that our transportation department is running smoothly and efficiently.
• Plan for Changes to Schedules and Policies: Develop and implement plans to ensure that our transportation department is prepared for changes to schedules and policies.
• Prepare Reports for Senior Management: Provide regular reports to senior management on the performance of our transportation department.
• Recruit Staff: Recruit and hire staff to join our transportation department.
• Supervise Staff: Supervise and manage the performance of staff in our transportation department.
• Train Staff: Provide training and development opportunities to staff in our transportation department.
• Manage Finances or Budget: Manage the finances and budget of our transportation department.
• Arrange for Shipping Documentation and the Tracking and Tracing of Goods in Transit: Ensure that all shipping documentation is accurate and up-to-date, and that goods are tracked and traced in transit.
• Ensure Transport Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that our transportation department is compliant with all relevant regulations and laws.
• Establish and Implement Policies and Standards for the Transportation and Storage of Goods: Develop and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods.
• Negotiate for Services and Preferential Rates: Negotiate with suppliers and service providers to secure the best possible rates and services.
• Oversee the Scheduling and Dispatching of Vehicles and Goods: Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods to ensure that they are delivered on time and in good condition.
• Oversee the Setting of Transportation Service Rates and Monitor Revenue: Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue to ensure that our transportation department is profitable.
• Administer Programs to Promote Industrial and Commercial Business Investment in Rural and Urban Areas: Develop and implement programs to promote industrial and commercial business investment in rural and urban areas.
• Organize and Maintain Inventory: Organize and maintain inventory to ensure that goods are stored and tracked accurately.
• Record Cargo Information, Hours of Service, Distance Travelled and Fuel Consumption: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption to ensure that our transportation department is operating efficiently.
• Supervise Professional and Support Staff and Students: Supervise and manage the performance of professional and support staff and students in our transportation department.
• Respond to Enquiries from Members of the Business Community Concerning Development Opportunities: Respond to enquiries from members of the business community concerning development opportunities.
• Recruit and Hire Staff: Recruit and hire staff to join our transportation department.
• Provide Consulting Services to Government and Other Organizations: Provide consulting services to government and other organizations.
• Provide Advice on Procedures and Requirements for Government Approval of Development Proposals: Provide advice on procedures and requirements for government approval of development proposals.
• Plan Development Projects: Develop and implement plans for development projects.
• Perform Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks to support the operation of our transportation department.
• Develop Venture Capital Sources: Develop and implement plans to secure venture capital sources.
• Develop Policies: Develop and implement policies to support the operation of our transportation department.
• Develop Social and Economic Profiles of an Area to Encourage Industrial and Commercial Investment: Develop and implement plans to create social and economic profiles of an area to encourage industrial and commercial investment.
• Develop and Implement Business Plans: Develop and implement business plans to support the operation of our transportation department.
• Deliver Presentations at Conferences, Workshops or Symposia: Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, or symposia to promote our transportation department.
