Senior Director of Philanthropic Development

The ROME GROUP seeks an experienced fundraising professional to fill the role of Senior Director of Philanthropic Impact. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Advancement and works closely with the President & CEO at the Network Headquarters.
Key Responsibilities- Cultivate and Secure Major Gifts: Collaborate closely with the VP/Advancement and CEO to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts to support the Network Headquarters annual operations and the $25 Million Hope Ignites campaign.
- Manage Donor Relationships: Develop and manage a portfolio of donors, demonstrating impact through effective stewardship and successfully securing gifts for the annual fund and campaign.
- Develop Personalized Plans: Create personalized cultivation and stewardship plans for major donors to maintain strong relationships and deepen engagement.
- Conduct Donor Meetings: Conduct regular face-to-face meetings with donors to qualify opportunities and secure financial commitments.
- Collaborate with Affiliates: Work closely with affiliate team members and board members to identify, vet, and pursue collaborative fundraising opportunities to benefit the local organization and broader Network.
- Prospect Research: Utilize prospect research to identify new major donor prospects and develop strategic cultivation and solicitation plans.
- Network and Build Relationships: Network and build relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, board members, volunteers, and community leaders.
- Track and Manage Relationships: Track and manage relationships and contacts to support fundraising strategies, providing assistance to the VP/Advancement for the entire major gifts portfolio.
- Passion for the Mission: Be passionate about the Boys Hope Girls Hope mission and values.
- Collaborative Environment: Be an effective collaborator who contributes to a team-based environment where excellence, integrity, credibility, ethics, passion, intentionality, and thoroughness are modeled and celebrated.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred. At least five years of experience in major gift fundraising, with experience in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge).
