About the Role

The Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships will play a critical role in advancing the philanthropic goals of ROME GROUP, a leading organization in the community. This position will be responsible for cultivating and stewarding high-net-worth donors and prospects, and for supporting senior leadership in their fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Execute Department Strategies: Help create and implement departmental strategies to increase major and planned gifts, establishing measurable metrics for the department.
  2. Donor Management: Manage a portfolio of donors, meeting with them regularly to build an understanding of their philanthropic interests and how ROME GROUP can deepen its relationship with them.
  3. Donor Identification and Engagement: Identify and engage new donors who have the capacity to make a major gift, including identifying current donors with major gift potential.
  4. Solicitation and Stewardship: Ensure all current donors, lapsed donors, and prospects are solicited appropriately and accurately.
  5. Representation and Leadership: Represent ROME GROUP's de Tocqueville Society at all organizational events, requiring some evening and weekend commitments.
  6. Fundraising Goal Setting and Reporting: Collaborate with senior leaders to set fundraising goals, providing regular reports to senior management.
  7. Department Leadership and Collaboration: Provide leadership and direction to department staff, collaborating with other departments and organizational leaders.
  8. Budget Preparation and Management: Work with senior leaders in the preparation of the Philanthropy department budget, monitoring and maintaining controls on budget needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a major gift role with a proven track record of securing new and larger gifts, preferably in a non-profit setting
  • Experience working with high-net-worth donors
  • Knowledge of planned giving programs/vehicles and tax-smart giving tools
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to fostering strong, productive working relationships with all staff, volunteers, and the community
  • Ability to work in non-regular office hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks on behalf of the department
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with donor databases
