Compactor Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Compactor Service Technician to join our team at REgroup, a division of The Municipal Group of Companies. As a leading environmental services company, we provide integrated waste collection, management, and recycling services to clients across Nova Scotia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on waste equipment, including compactors and balers, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct diagnostic checks on electrical and hydraulic components to identify and resolve issues.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance inspections throughout Nova Scotia to prevent equipment downtime and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of our operations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working on machinery, including hydraulics or electrical systems, is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit drawings and mechanical blueprints to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience working with hand tools, such as drills, grinders, wrenches, hammers, and measurement tape.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional appearance, positive attitude, and safety-first mindset.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions and wearing protective clothing while working in or near garbage, recycling, or compost material.
  • Welding or millwright background is considered an asset.
  • Class 5 driver's license.
