Position Overview:
As a leading provider in the electricity distribution sector, we are poised for significant growth. Our team is dedicated to exceeding customer expectations while prioritizing safety.

Role:
Under the general guidance of the Manager of Financial Reporting & Treasury, the Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing finance and treasury operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise various period-end closing procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
2. Provide direction and expertise to team members, identify training needs, and manage employee performance.
3. Handle all aspects of employee relations, collaborating closely with Human Resources on hiring, terminations, training, and performance evaluations.

Treasury Functions:
1. Analyze and assess cash forecasting models to determine short-term borrowing needs and provide recommendations on debt, equity, and dividend strategies to maintain optimal capital structure.
2. Oversee daily banking operations, cash management, and forecasting across all business units.
3. Review and approve manual journal entries, working papers, and reconciliations.
4. Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and management discussions as necessary.
5. Provide financial estimates for regulatory applications and coordinate credit rating agency presentations annually.

Risk Management:
1. Analyze and recommend improvements on the organization’s risk management and counterparty credit risk processes and policies.
2. Lead new treasury initiatives, including bond issuances and credit facility renewals, while maintaining associated processes for execution.
3. Evaluate short-term investment opportunities and support accounting analysis related to treasury impacts.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration with a professional financial designation (CPA).
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and proficiency in US GAAP and IFRS.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SAP.
- Leadership experience and experience in preparing materials for senior management are advantageous.

Additional Information:
Experience in a regulated environment, particularly within the electrical utility sector, is preferred.
