Position Overview:

The Project Control Team Leader is essential in overseeing the financial, scheduling, risk management, and change control elements of projects. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of budget formulation, cost monitoring, and financial forecasting to ensure the project's fiscal integrity.

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid Schedule:
Remote work on Mondays and Fridays, with in-office presence required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Employment Type:
Full Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week.

Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Financial Oversight:**
Manage budget preparation, cost tracking, and financial forecasting to maintain project financial health.

2. **Schedule Development:**
Create and maintain project schedules to ensure timely achievement of milestones while identifying and mitigating risks.

3. **Change Management:**
Effectively manage scope changes, ensuring all impacts are documented and communicated.

4. **Reporting:**
Provide regular and detailed project reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication.

5. **Team Leadership:**
Lead and develop the project control team, ensuring members are motivated and well-equipped to meet project demands.

System Development:

1. **Project Control Systems:**
Spearhead the creation and implementation of comprehensive project control systems to monitor progress, budgets, and timelines.

2. **Standardization of Processes:**
Standardize project control procedures across all projects for consistency and efficiency.

3. **Training Initiatives:**
Organize training sessions for project controllers and related staff to ensure proficiency in new systems and processes.

Integration and Evaluation:

1. **Project Control Tools:**
Ensure full integration of project control tools into daily operations and continuously evaluate their effectiveness.

2. **Stakeholder Collaboration:**
Engage with key stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure project control systems align with organizational needs.

3. **Cost and Schedule Analysis:**
Provide accurate cost information for decision-making and assist in analyzing project schedules and cost reports.

Qualifications:

- A university degree in a relevant field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) designation or equivalent experience.
- Over 10 years of experience in project controls, with significant expertise in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and estimating.
- Extensive experience in large projects, preferably within the mining industry.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, InEight (Hard Dollar), and Excel.
- Familiarity with Oracle's JD Edwards software suite, particularly the Project Management Products.
- Knowledge of Data Access Studio by ReportsNow and 4castPlus or similar Project Management software is advantageous.
