Operations Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to oversee the daily warehouse operations of our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising drivers, warehouse staff, and assisting customers on the phone and in-person.

About the Role

  • Supervise drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse operations to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of building materials.
  • Assist the Branch Manager with hiring drivers and warehouse staff.
  • Manage warehouse staff schedules and attendance.
  • Dispatch or oversee the dispatching of trucks for timely and accurate delivery of products to job sites.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure orders are pulled timely and accurately, and that they are loaded and unloaded promptly.
  • Assist warehouse personnel in loading and unloading trucks using forklifts.
  • Participate in inventory control, including purchasing, weekly/daily cycle counts, review and disposition of damaged and outdated stock, and other duties such as order processing, day-end balancing, and assisting with other areas of running the branch.
  • Ensure the branch is safety compliant and operating within company standards by conducting safety audits and meetings.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of tractors, trailers, and forklifts.

Requirements

  • Experience running operations and working in a warehouse, distribution center, shipping and receiving department, or similar environment with similar responsibilities.
  • Basic math skills for inventory counts, and English verbal and written skills to read purchase orders and communicate with team members.
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly each day.
  • Reliable, safe, and a team player.
  • High School degree or GED. College courses are a plus.
