About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Director to lead our Regina location and drive operational excellence. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for optimizing human, material, equipment, and facilities resources to meet and exceed customer demand and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, quality, and productivity in accordance with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  2. Lead and motivate a team of Production staff, including Production Leaders, to achieve performance goals in safety, quality, efficiency, costs, and continuous improvement.
  3. Collaborate with senior executives and corporate functional leaders to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
  4. Develop and execute management policies and initiatives to create operational efficiency and increased quality and productivity.
  5. Ensure all human rights, employment regulations, safety regulations are rigorously followed as per Canadian laws, company policies, and standards.
  6. Participate in grievance procedures and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements.

Requirements:

  1. Superior knowledge of multiple production/manufacturing functions and principles.
  2. Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.
  3. Innovative in the application of technology, including computer systems and software, manufacturing equipment, and communication and training tools.
  4. Keen understanding of people, and an ability to motivate, direct, and teach.
  5. Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  6. Ability to excel in a rapidly changing and challenging environment.
  7. Change agent and culture builder.
  8. Timely decision-making and delegation skills.
  9. Ability to balance conflicting priorities.
  10. Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  11. Working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and working with a unionized workforce.
  12. Demonstrated understanding and implementation of Lean concepts.
  13. Experience continuously improving quality and safety.
  14. Goal-oriented and results-driven.
  15. Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software.
  16. Working knowledge of finance, customer service, and employee management.
