About the Role

As a Retirement Plan Governance Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of five defined benefit pension plans and two global trusts. Reporting to the Head of the Retirement Plans department, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and upholding governance and legislative rules within these plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies, guidelines, and procedures endorsed by pension and investment committees.
  • Stay abreast of evolving standards, regulations, and laws impacting governance activities. Provide expert advice on their interpretation and application.
  • Conduct impact analyses and recommend changes to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
  • Plan and prepare the work of various pension and global trust committees, fostering a collaborative and efficient environment.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for committee members and staff, enhancing their understanding of governance best practices.
  • Produce comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders, effectively communicating complex information.

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in retirement plan governance.

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial relations, human resources, law, administration, actuarial science, actuarial mathematics, or a related field.
  • Three years of relevant experience in similar roles within the pension industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quebec pension plan legislation and regulations, particularly those applicable to the public sector.
  • Membership in a professional Order or holding a professional title is an asset.
