Job Overview

Under the supervision of the head of the Retirement Plans division, the incumbent serves as a consultant and key resource in the governance processes of multiple defined benefit pension schemes and global trusts. The role entails the formulation, upkeep, and adherence to governance and legislative frameworks. The individual is tasked with creating policies, guidelines, or procedures that receive endorsement from pension and investment committees, while also ensuring their timely updates and monitoring.

The advisor remains well-informed about the latest developments in standards, regulations, and laws that may impact governance functions. They provide expert advice on the interpretation and application of these regulations, conduct impact assessments, and propose necessary adjustments. Additionally, the incumbent organizes and prepares the agendas for various pension and global trust committees, designs and delivers training sessions for committee members or staff, and generates presentations and reports relevant to their area of expertise.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

- Bachelor's degree in industrial relations, human resources, law, administration, actuarial science, or a related discipline;
- A minimum of three (3) years of pertinent experience in comparable positions;
- Any equivalent combination of education or experience will be considered;
- Familiarity with the laws and regulations governing Quebec pension plans, particularly in the public sector;
- Membership in a professional organization or holding a professional designation is advantageous;
- A valid driver's license is required.
