Job Title: Mechanical Estimator

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for providing detailed estimates for construction projects, working closely with project operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of estimates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Collaborate with project operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of estimates.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and owners to obtain necessary information for estimates.
  • Participate in mechanical site reviews, tender reviews, and project closing meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated track record of project estimating in the Saskatchewan commercial and industrial markets.
  • Completion of a college program in mechanical engineering or several years of experience as a qualified trade person in the mechanical construction trade.
  • Previous experience as a supervisor and/or superintendent beneficial.
  • Intermediate level experience with estimating programs; Accubid experience essential.
  • Competency in computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and JDEdwards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of estimating, forecasting, and scheduling to provide strategic and fiscal information to clients and management.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to shift priorities and flexibility with working hours.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with commitment to project excellence.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Available to travel.
