Position Overview

As a Supportive Health Aide at BLUE SKY HOME CARE INC., you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients. This permanent position requires dedication and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Work Environment

You will be working primarily in a nursing home or similar settings, providing essential support to elderly individuals and those in need of assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage patients in outdoor recreational activities to promote their well-being.
  • Assist in the cleaning, sterilization, and setup of medical equipment.
  • Support patients with personal care and comfort needs.
  • Manage bedpans and assist with toileting needs.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Serve meals and assist patients with feeding as necessary.
  • Help with the mobility of patients, including lifting, turning, and positioning.
  • Facilitate communication between departments by delivering messages and specimens.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in patients' living spaces.
  • Oversee patients' exercise routines to ensure their physical health.
  • Administer basic medical procedures as required.
  • Keep track of medical supplies and inventory.
  • Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Transport patients safely using wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Respond promptly to patient call signals to address their needs.
  • Collect medical specimens as directed.
  • Prepare patients for surgical procedures by ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Provide first aid in emergency situations.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a First Aid Certificate and a Health Care Aide Certificate.
  • Completion of a college or CEGEP program related to health care.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Security and Safety Requirements
  • Must pass a criminal record check.
  • Immunization records are required.
  • Adult Abuse Registry check is mandatory.
