About the Role

Island View Place Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team. As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Daily Living Activities
    • Help residents with bathing, dressing, and grooming
    • Assist with feeding and serving meal trays
    • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
  • Provide Personal Care
    • Assist with toileting and incontinence care
    • Help residents with mobility and transfer assistance
    • Provide wound care and dressing changes
  • Support with Medical Care
    • Take vital signs, such as temperature and blood pressure
    • Assist with administering medications
    • Provide basic first aid and CPR
  • Contribute to a Positive Environment
    • Engage residents in activities and conversations
    • Help maintain a clean and safe environment
    • Assist with laundry and housekeeping tasks
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Certifications
    • First Aid Certificate
    • CPR Certificate
    • Healthcare Aide Certificate
