Child & Adolescent Community Psychiatrist - Red Deer

Alberta Health Services is excited to announce an opening for a Child Psychiatrist in the Mental Health department, specifically for Central Zone Children's Services.

The ideal candidate will engage in a diverse scope of practice, encompassing inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth services for remote areas, alongside a clinical practice. Active support for Mental Health Programs across Central Zone is anticipated. The successful applicant will also take on Emergency on-call responsibilities.

Qualified candidates should possess recent and pertinent experience across all facets of practice required for this role.

All physicians wishing to practice in Alberta must possess a valid and relevant license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta or a valid Notification of Eligibility Letter from the CPSA.

Required Additional Desired Competencies:

  • Recent experience (within the last 12 months) in independent practice as the Most Responsible Physician for a diverse patient population.
  • Experience in the past 24 months managing after-hours inpatient care.

Recommended:

  • Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
