Key Responsibilities:

The SQS Coordinator will undertake various responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Thorough understanding of SQS protocols and their relevance to project-specific requirements.
  • Identifying and approving qualified third-party inspection agencies across various regions.
  • Ensuring inspectors maintain their qualifications and proficiency.
  • Effectively communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Maintaining a weekly overview of surveillance assignments and managing results.
  • Participating in scheduling meetings to facilitate effective planning.
  • Assessing resource adequacy and identifying any shortfalls.
  • Evaluating the performance of inspection processes and ensuring compliance with QAQC standards.
  • Interpreting specifications, drawings, and quality plans accurately.
  • Establishing work assignment details and ensuring proper scheduling and briefing for inspectors.
  • Reviewing inspection reports for quality and progress, addressing any deficiencies.
  • Ensuring vendor compliance with documentation, codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to address all quality-related activities.
  • Working cohesively with all organizational levels.
  • Assisting in the development and revision of WSP General Specifications.
  • Reviewing and approving Inspection Test Plans, Welding Procedures, and Vendor Quality Plans.
  • Coordinating pre-inspection meetings and managing non-conformance reports.
  • Reviewing and approving invoices from third-party inspection agencies.
Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of major equipment for nuclear power generation.
  • Over 10 years of experience in inspection and quality surveillance, preferably in a CSA N299 / ASME III NCA 4000 environment.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in welding and shop fabrication.
  • CWB Level II or III Welding Inspector certification.
  • API 1169 Pipeline General Inspector Certification.
  • Valid certification in NDT (MT, PT, UT, RT interpretation) at least at level II.
  • Health and Safety Risk Assessment training is an asset.
