Vendor Quality Surveillance Coordinator

The Vendor Quality Surveillance Coordinator (VQS) is responsible for overseeing the implementation of quality plans by vendors and suppliers. This oversight ensures that the project receives objective evidence of compliance with specified requirements. The VQS Coordinator may engage at the pre-award phase and continue through to the closure of purchase orders. Reporting to the VQS Lead, the Coordinator will interact closely with engineering, procurement, expediting, and logistics teams. A thorough understanding of relevant codes and standards, along with the ability to assess vendor compliance, is crucial. The Coordinator will primarily manage the coordination of QS Inspector activities related to vendor manufacturing inspections and testing.

This contract position offers a dynamic work environment with key responsibilities including:
· Collaborating with engineering to determine the Equipment Criticality Rating (ECR) for each supply item.
· Working with procurement and vendors to identify inspection points requiring QS Inspector presence.
· Providing updates to the VQS Lead regarding surveillance levels and estimated completion hours.
· Facilitating pre-inspection alignment meetings.
· Executing the VQS plan and associated procedures.
· Assisting the VQS Lead in recruiting and engaging QS Inspection personnel.
· Coordinating QS Inspector attendance at scheduled inspections.
· Reviewing outputs from QS Inspectors.
· Overseeing the review of supplier documentation and deliverables.
· Managing non-conformance issues and ensuring closure.
· Mentoring QS Inspection personnel on effective VQS practices.
· Participating in the purchase order closure process with procurement.
· Contributing to the VQS project report for the VQS Lead.

Qualifications and Experience

· Relevant technical qualifications to facilitate effective communication among all parties regarding product and manufacturing processes.
· Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with various materials, equipment types, and supply items.
· Experience in reviewing and interpreting specifications, standards, codes, and drawings.
· Previous experience in manufacturing quality control and assurance.
· Knowledge of ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management standards.
· Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for inspection and testing activities.
· Proven success in a similar role.
· Comprehensive understanding of project execution, particularly in an EPCM environment with a focus on materials management.
· Proficient in computer and mobile device usage.
· Strong administrative capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

· 10 years of experience in a similar capacity.
· Managerial training.
