About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Claims Assistant I to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a Claims Assistant I, you will play a critical role in the settlement of insurance claims, providing administrative assistance and front-line quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process claims-related documents and correspondence.
  • Manage file storage and retrieval processes for closed claims.
  • Provide administrative support, including data entry, photocopying, and scanning.
  • Open new claims and assign claims adjusters.
  • Process and coordinate incoming correspondence, including mail and email.
  • Process payments on claim files.
  • Identify process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • High School or College Diploma, including business or administration training.
  • 3 months to 1 year of work experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
