About the role

We’re looking for a Field Property Claims Specialist to join our growing team to support the province of New Brunswick

By maintaining current knowledge of insurance products as well as appraisal or investigation techniques and services, you will provide quality service along with prompt and equitable valuations of claims in line with corporate policies and standards.

What you'll do here:

Conduct field inspections to evaluate property damage and evaluate replacement of restoration requirements, including direct and in-person contact with insured, claimants and service providers. Identify process improvement needs and recommend changes to policies or procedures to maintain quality service and competitiveness.  Maintain effective communication channels with claims departments.  Coach other appraisers and adjusters when required.  Establish and maintain productive business relationships and liaise with repair facilities and other service providers.  Assist in the screening and review of the vendor's performance to meet professional and corporate standards. Prepare repair estimates and obtain cost agreements from contractors or quotations on the restoration/replacement. Prepare total loss evaluations and facilitate their disposal, if applicable.


What you bring to the table:

University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role Minimum 3 years experience in property claims High-level knowledge of the Xactimate/XactAnalysis estimating software Comprehensive knowledge of mitigation (IICRC), construction, and repair procedures Effective verbal communication skills, with experience in interviewing, coaching others, and dealing with clients Good written communications skills to draft claims reports Have a valid driver's licence and a good driving record. Bilingualism is considered aasset
