About the Role

The Associate Director, Development Review is a key leadership position at Conservation Halton, responsible for overseeing the development review programs and services. This role requires a strong understanding of land use planning, development, and environmental processes, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering CH's development review programs and services
  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of planning and permit services in accordance with CH's policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet CH's strategic performance targets, service standards, and annual work plan
  • Provide expert advice and opinions on behalf of CH to proponents, municipalities, and other agencies
  • Support the administration of Ontario Regulation 41/24 under the Conservation Authorities Act
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience and minimum 5 years in a leadership position
  • Degree in planning, geography, or related discipline; graduate or post-graduate degree considered an asset
  • Registered Professional Planner
  • Experience providing leadership to a multi-disciplinary matrix team
  • Training in dispute resolution/mediation
  • Project management and change management experience
  • Working knowledge of statutes and regulatory controls affecting land use planning and development
