Job Title: Senior Operations Director

Shift: Monday - Friday Days; hours may vary based on business needs

Salary: $125,000 - $140,000

Location: On-site daily

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Operations Director for our client in Burlington. This company is a non-asset-based 3PL distributing across North America. As the Senior Operations Director, you will oversee the Customer Service, Logistics, and Operations teams. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in a similar non-asset based organization, with 3-5 years in a senior management role.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the Customer Service, Logistics, and Operations departments by providing support and guidance to managers and associates.
  2. Mentor, evaluate, and drive performance of the Operations team, resolving issues with inefficiency proactively.
  3. Collaborate with senior management to create business development initiatives that align with company goals and objectives for growth.
  4. Oversee company budget for projects, operational headcount, and corporate spending; controlling costs and reviewing budget proposals.
  5. Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management, including software, hardware, and systems to ensure that the company remains competitive and adheres to industry standards.
  6. Collaborate with HR to recruit and onboard new operations employees, manage performance, address and resolve issues, and review employee compensation, while expanding training and development programs.
  7. Work alongside the company President and Vice President to address company and departmental needs, attract new clients, grow the business, and manage operations.
  8. Organize and lead meetings with executives and department heads to review management plans and shape company directives.
  9. Take company responsibility when necessary - in the absence of the President or VP.
  10. Other related duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualities for Success:

  3. Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
  4. Hands-on, people-focused management style.
  5. Extensive knowledge of customer service procedures and principles.
  6. Working knowledge of services and systems used in the industry.
  7. General knowledge of new trends and technologies in the industry.
  8. Experience with project and budget management.
  9. Creative in developing new strategies to drive process improvement.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Logistics or another industry-related field; MBA preferred but not required.
  2. 10+ years of industry experience - focus on North American third-party logistics.
  3. 3-5 years of senior management experience required.
  4. 5-8 years of experience managing process improvement and operations.
  5. Transportation Management Software (TMS) experience required.
  6. Advanced skill in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
