We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director to lead the Burlington Performing Arts Centre (BPAC) in its mission to provide a world-class performing arts venue for the community.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing performing arts venues, with a minimum of seven years of experience in not-for-profit arts venue management, and a university degree in arts and/or business management or equivalent experience in facility management and administration.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the BPAC team in achieving its strategic objectives and maintaining a healthy, sustainable, and dynamic organization.
- Develop and implement effective financial management and reporting systems, ensuring the Centre's financial stability and growth.
- Oversee the programming, producing, and festival management of the Centre, including the development of a diverse and engaging performing arts season.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, artists, artist managers, other arts groups, sponsors, educational institutions, volunteers, and the audience.
- Ensure the Centre's facilities and operations are maintained to the highest standards, including the management of staff, volunteers, and contractors.
The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is a 63,000 sq. foot facility located in the heart of downtown Burlington, Ontario. The Centre features a 718-seat Main Theatre, a flexible Community Studio Theatre, and a generously-scaled Family Lobby. The Centre is managed by a separate charitable not-for-profit organization with an independent Board of Directors, supported in part by the City of Burlington.
The Centre has a pivotal role in the cultural, educational, and economic enrichment of the City of Burlington, and the Executive Director must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, the Board of Directors, the media, artists, artist managers, other arts groups, sponsors, educational institutions, volunteers, and the audience.
What We OfferThe BPAC offers a competitive salary range of $135,000 to $150,000, an excellent benefits package, and the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals in the performing arts industry.
