Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services in Coquitlam, BC. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with clients who are affected by complex substance use, mental health, and medical issues, providing evidence-based occupational therapy services to promote occupational performance and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess clients' occupational performance and develop individualized plans to address their needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with clients, caregivers, and other healthcare providers to implement occupational therapy services and promote client-centered care.
  • Use diverse intervention approaches to promote occupational performance and well-being, including group and individual therapy sessions.
  • Manage a complex caseload and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive client care.
  • Provide education and counseling to clients and their families on occupational performance and rehabilitation issues.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate in Occupational Therapy.
  • Two years' recent experience working in a psychiatric setting with individuals who have complex mental health and addictions issues.
  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
