About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at PHSA. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess clients with complex mental health and substance use issues, considering their personal context, goals, interests, needs, safety, environment, and resources.
  • Develop and implement outcome-oriented occupational therapy services, collaborating with clients, caregivers, and other healthcare providers.
  • Implement occupational therapy services using diverse intervention approaches, engaging clients in activities associated with occupational roles and goals.
  • Manage a complex caseload, coordinating care for clients, and applying case management principles.
  • Provide education and counseling to clients and families regarding functional and rehabilitation issues.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate in Occupational Therapy.
  • Two years' recent experience working in a psychiatric setting with individuals who have complex mental health and addictions issues.
  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
