Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at PHSA. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide occupational therapy services to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess clients with complex mental health and substance use issues, considering their personal context, goals, interests, needs, safety, environment, and resources.
- Plan outcome-oriented occupational therapy services, collaborating with clients, caregivers, and other healthcare providers to address occupational performance issues.
- Implement occupational therapy services, utilizing diverse intervention approaches, and engaging clients in activities associated with occupational roles and goals.
- Manage a complex caseload, coordinating care for clients, and applying case management principles to identify problems and address issues.
- Provide education and counseling to clients and families regarding functional and rehabilitation issues, and provide information and guidance to other caregivers and healthcare providers.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate in Occupational Therapy.
- Two years' recent, related experience working in a psychiatric setting with individuals who have complex mental health and addictions issues.
- Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC). Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
