As an intern at PCL, you will engage in meaningful work assignments within a nurturing environment that encourages both personal and professional advancement.

We are currently on the lookout for Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering Interns to join our Estimating Department. The selected candidates will be based in our Edmonton office. We seek students who are available for 4, 8, or 12-month terms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Assist in compiling estimates by organizing and formatting takeoff data.
  • Examine specifications and drawings to ensure comprehensive detail capture.
  • Communicate with subcontractors to clarify scope and confirm bidding status.
  • Support bid submission processes and manage bid deliveries.
  • Participate in site visits to gain insights into the construction process and understand operational challenges.
  • Attend pre-bid site assessments to collect information for project logistics and risk evaluation.
  • Maintain and update project information on Smartbidnet.
  • Review modifications to drawings and specifications before and after tendering.
Qualifications
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate with various stakeholders.
  • A strong interest in the construction industry; prior field experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using various software applications, including word processing and spreadsheet tools.
  • Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
