Position Overview:
Are you passionate about guiding projects from conception to execution? We are looking for a proficient Intermediate Electrical Engineer with 6-10 years of experience to engage in comprehensive engineering processes, collaborating with a dynamic team of innovative professionals.

As a key member of the Engineering division, you will manage the entire project lifecycle, from initial design to final handover.

This role is located in our Edmonton office, with chances to engage in site assessments.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all engineering functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Examine scope documents to guarantee that all design criteria and project scopes are accurately reflected in execution strategies.
  • Draft project specifications, cost estimates, bid documents (if necessary), analysis summaries, budget forecasts, schedules, and execution plans.
  • Experience in Engineering within the Oil and Gas sector in Canada, particularly in Alberta, is essential.
  • Comply with client quality assurance protocols.
  • Guide and supervise junior electrical engineers, reviewing and endorsing proposed engineering designs to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Provide project management services by assessing project scope, developing engineering solutions, facilitating drawing reviews, monitoring costs and schedules, and liaising with clients throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure adherence to project documentation and lifecycle information management requirements.
  • Coordinate and engage in design discussions with clients to provide timely insights on electrical needs, including collaboration with internal and external stakeholders for sustaining projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
  • P. Eng. designation with the Association of Professionals in Engineering and Geoscience in Alberta (APEGA) or another provincial association is required.
  • 6 to 10 years of comprehensive Engineering experience in a related field is necessary.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD design is essential, including the ability to coordinate drawing reviews, produce mark-ups, and conduct field assessments.
  • Project management experience is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, with a collaborative approach and a commitment to mentoring junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and leadership capabilities.
  • Aptitude for analyzing and resolving complex issues and making informed decisions.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate challenging conversations.

Additional Information:

  • Travel to project sites is infrequent and contingent upon project type (5-10% at most).
  • A valid class 5 driver's license is required.
  • Occasional support outside of regular business hours and/or on weekends may be necessary.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Compensation: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 annually
