Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal team members (Engineers, Architects, Designers, and Project Managers) in the design and specification development of electrical, lighting, and traffic signal systems projects.
  • Lead and contribute to the successful design, production, coordination, and management of electrical, lighting, and traffic signal systems projects.
  • Develop power distribution, lighting, and auxiliary systems designs in AutoCAD, AGi32 light software, and/or MicroStation.
  • Prepare technical reports, tender documentation, and field support (including commissioning/site inspection).
  • Ensure that engineering deliverables (e.g. drawings, specifications, analysis, budget estimates) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures, and sound engineering practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in traffic engineering.
  • Proven experience in the electrical design of municipal roadway lighting and traffic signal systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Safety Code, Alberta Transportation Standards as well as familiarity with regional traffic design standards.
  • Proficiency with engineering software including AutoCAD, MicroStation, and AGi32 lighting design software.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
