Position Overview

The Sales Specialist for Slag Products is responsible for cultivating and sustaining a market for the sale of slag and its byproducts, contributing to the profitability of Harsco Environmental.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively expand, develop, and oversee slag sales within the designated region.
  • Establish and nurture robust relationships with both prospective and current clients.
  • Strategically plan and maintain consistent communication with clients, including site visits.
  • Coordinate technical follow-ups on various projects utilizing Harsco's eco-friendly products, collaborating with operations to optimize product performance.
  • Engage with local regulatory bodies on environmental and technical matters.
  • Collaborate with entities in the manufacturing and construction sectors.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory; post-secondary education in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in sales, particularly in aggregates.
  • Proven experience in selling products within a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the designated region, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
  • Experience in a steel mill or aggregate product environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the product line and its applications.
  • Familiarity with local environmental regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive communication skills.
  • Knowledge of effective methods for showcasing, promoting, and selling products or services.
