Job Overview

The Slag Sales Specialist is responsible for cultivating and sustaining a market for the sales of slag and its byproducts, contributing to the profitability of Harsco Environmental.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategically expand, develop, and oversee slag sales within the Durham region and its vicinity.
  • Establish and nurture robust relationships with both prospective and current clients.
  • Organize, manage, and ensure consistent communication with clients, including site visits to customer locations and Harsco facilities.
  • Handle technical follow-ups on various projects utilizing Harsco's eco-friendly products, collaborating with operations to optimize product performance.
  • Engage with local regulatory bodies on environmental and technical matters.
  • Collaborate with entities in the manufacturing and construction sectors.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory; post-secondary education in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in aggregate sales is required.
  • Proven experience in marketing products or goods within a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the Durham region, with occasional overnight travel.
  • A valid driver's license is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in a steel mill or aggregate products environment is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the product line and its applications.
  • Familiarity with local environmental regulations is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of sales principles and methods for effectively promoting products or services.
