Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Buyer Co-Op Student to join our team. This position will be based in our Oakville Office.

The Buyer Co-Op Student will play a vital role in supporting the procurement process, ensuring purchases align with budgetary guidelines and operational forecasts. This position will also focus on identifying opportunities for enhancing site efficiencies and responding to procurement needs for goods and services essential to our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with purchasing activities related to indirect materials.
  • Support Purchase Order Management, Inventory Control, and Supplier Payment processes.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve site operational efficiencies.
  • Monitor supplier performance, particularly regarding delivery schedules, and communicate potential supply chain risks to relevant teams.
  • Assist in the procurement of indirect materials, including Industrial, Safety, Janitorial Supplies, Waste Management, and Lubricants as needed.
  • Oversee KANBAN/Min-Max systems to maintain optimal inventory levels.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and procurement methodologies.
  • Experience with various MRP/ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation and collaborative skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
  • Robust analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
