Position Overview: Enhancement Crew Leader

Role:

The Enhancement Crew Leader plays a crucial role in managing and implementing landscaping plans and designs. This position ensures that the executed designs align with client needs while being functional, safe, and cost-effective. The Crew Leader is responsible for maintaining company equipment and overseeing the daily operations of the Enhancement Crew. This individual must ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, as well as CSL Group Ltd. policies and procedures. Effective communication with the Branch Manager regarding team performance and scheduled tasks is essential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily operations.
  • Operate heavy machinery including mini excavators, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
  • Manage scheduling for crew members and equipment efficiently.
  • Procure and coordinate materials and equipment for projects in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure project completion within budget constraints.
  • Guide and assist Enhancement Labourers in the field according to specifications.
  • Plan and execute short-term operational strategies while keeping the Branch Manager informed.
  • Adhere to CSL Group Ltd. policies and procedures, leading by example.
  • Complete necessary documentation related to safety and operational reports.
  • Identify safety concerns and determine the best methods for task completion.
  • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or damages to equipment.
  • Notify the Branch Manager of defective materials and unusual situations.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and ensure clean work environments.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of landscaping designs.
  • Address and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Follow all relevant building codes, zoning laws, and regulations.
  • Utilize various hand and power tools effectively.
  • Supervise the execution of landscaping projects.
  • Prioritize maintenance work orders and scheduled tasks.
  • Ensure adequate supplies and equipment for the crew.
  • Assist in training and orienting new staff members.
  • Drive company vehicles as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in landscaping or property maintenance.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery such as mini excavators, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and project coordination abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures effectively.
  • Professional and tactful interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

  • Availability for 24/7 operations may be necessary.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Travel to various job sites is required.
  • Safety gear, including steel-toed boots and safety glasses, is mandatory.
  • Overtime may be necessary.
  • Work is conducted outdoors year-round.
  • This is a full-time position with responsibilities throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons, transitioning into winter duties.
