Position Overview: Enhancement Crew Leader

Role Summary:

The Enhancement Crew Leader plays a crucial role in managing and implementing landscape plans and designs. This position is essential in ensuring that the proposed designs meet functional, safety, and budgetary requirements. The Crew Leader is responsible for maintaining company equipment and overseeing the daily operations of the Enhancement Crew. It is vital for this individual to ensure that all crew members adhere to relevant legislation, including Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of CSL Group Ltd. This role requires effective communication with the Branch Manager regarding team performance and task completion.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily operations.
  • Operate heavy machinery, including mini excavators, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
  • Manage the scheduling of crew members and equipment.
  • Procure and coordinate materials and equipment efficiently.
  • Ensure projects are completed within budget constraints.
  • Guide and assist Enhancement Labourers in executing tasks according to specifications.
  • Facilitate effective short-term planning and execution while keeping the Branch Manager informed.
  • Lead by example in adhering to CSL Group Ltd. policies and procedures.
  • Complete necessary documentation related to safety and operational protocols.
  • Identify safety issues and determine the best practices for task completion.
  • Report any vehicle or equipment defects, accidents, or damages.
  • Notify the Branch Manager of defective materials and unusual occurrences.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and ensure a clean work environment.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure the safety, functionality, and visual appeal of landscape designs.
  • Address and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Follow all applicable building codes, zoning laws, and regulations.
  • Utilize various hand and power tools effectively.
  • Supervise the implementation of landscape designs and oversee construction activities.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks and manage work orders efficiently.
  • Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available for the crew.
  • Assist in training and orienting new staff members.
  • Operate CSL Group Ltd. vehicles as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in landscaping or property maintenance.
  • Proficient in operating heavy equipment, including mini excavators, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and project coordination abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Professional and tactful interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

  • Availability for 24/7 operations may be necessary.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Travel to various job sites may be required.
  • Safety gear, such as steel-toed boots and safety glasses, is mandatory.
  • Overtime may be necessary based on project demands.
  • Work is primarily outdoors throughout the year.
  • This is a full-time role with responsibilities transitioning through different seasons.
