Job Title: Human Resources Associate

We are seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Human Resources Associate to join our team at the District of West Vancouver. As a key member of our HR department, you will provide thoughtful support to our team of professionals and contribute to the delivery of exceptional services to our employees and community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare sensitive and confidential correspondence, documents, and reports
  • Provide front-line services and support to employees and managers in relation to HR processes, policies, and collective agreements
  • Participate in the recruitment process, including leading line managers through full-cycle recruitment
  • Coordinate and lead specific District HR initiatives
  • Support and contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, coordination, and administration of employee engagement programs
  • Participate in confidential Labour Relations meetings and assist with workplace investigations
  • Assist with corporate training initiatives and programs, including developing themes, researching vendors, and organizing training sessions
  • Coordinate HR statistical data, including risk management and HR metrics
  • Handle all aspects of Municipal Pension Plan queries
Requirements:
  • General knowledge of HR policies, procedures, relevant acts, regulations, guidelines, and collective agreements
  • Meticulous attention to detail and passion for labour relations
  • Ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of the principles, standards, and practices of relevant areas of Human Resources
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office
Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have completed a degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field, plus relevant experience working in a unionized environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

A current BC Driver's License and full-time access to a vehicle are required.

The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable Police Information Check and a copy of their credentials.
