Unit Manager

The Unit Manager is a critical role within our organization, impacting the lives of residents through strong leadership and motivation of team members.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, orient, and manage team members in the nursing department, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Provide leadership, education, and direction to team members to ensure assessments and documentation meet regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate team members, providing coaching and performance feedback, and contributing to performance appraisals.
- Identify and analyze trends in resident care outcomes and professional nursing practice issues to inform educational programming.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding changes in health status and policy updates.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Diploma as a Practical Nurse from a recognized Accredited Educational Institution.
- Minimum of two years' experience in Long Term Care industry or equivalent.
- Clinical knowledge and skill in Gerontological Nursing.
- Proficiency with classification processes and funding indicators, as well as knowledge of MOHLTC regulations and standards.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check.
