We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our medical surgical unit at William Osler Health System. As a key member of our inter-professional healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-focused nursing care to patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in the medical surgical unit, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet their unique requirements.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care, promoting a culture of respect and compassion.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients' responses and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to take an active role in their healthcare and recovery.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a minimum of two years' experience in general medicine/inpatient surgery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Knowledge of patient and family-centered care principles, with a commitment to delivering compassionate and respectful care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
- A competitive salary range of $34.26 to $37.05 per hour.
