Position Summary

The Enterprise Strategy team is seeking a Director of Strategic Initiatives to spearhead transformative efforts within the organization.

This role is essential for executing strategic projects that align with the overall enterprise strategy. The Director will collaborate across various business units, geographical locations, and value streams to ensure that strategic goals are met effectively. They will oversee the successful delivery of long-term strategic initiatives that align with the company’s objectives.

Collaboration with senior leadership is crucial for achieving desired outcomes. The Director will advocate for the enterprise's strategic aims and guide decision-making through comprehensive analysis and presentation of current conditions, organizational strengths and weaknesses, market trends, and competitive insights.

The Director will also mentor junior team members, guiding them through projects aimed at driving strategic change and transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyze, and address critical strategic challenges using a data-driven methodology. Provide insights and recommendations to support business decisions, ensuring the successful execution of strategic projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage initiatives that significantly impact the business, ensuring that benefits are realized, including:
    • Developing and overseeing a comprehensive plan for each initiative, establishing key performance indicators and success metrics.
    • Leading milestone reviews, budget planning, and management activities.
    • Driving necessary actions and decisions.
    • Communicating insights to Initiative Owners and Senior Management to enhance understanding of the initiative's health and performance.
    • Managing complex initiatives across segments/functions.
  • Facilitate decision-making among key stakeholders, recognizing when early trade-offs are necessary and influencing decision-makers to navigate challenging choices. Foster alignment and momentum within the organization to transition initiatives to execution teams.
  • Develop, inspire, and challenge team members (indirect reports).
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and external research to ensure strategic alignment with industry trends and consumer preferences.
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to formulate and present informed recommendations.
  • Support the Strategic Planning Process as required, providing hands-on assistance in developing new ideas during project initiation and supporting strategy projects initiated by external parties.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in business or a related field.
  • Experience in top-tier management consulting, investment banking, or similar strategic roles is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of combined education and experience in a strategic capacity within a large multinational corporation, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of enterprise strategy methodologies.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong comfort level in quantitative and financial analysis. Ability to think conceptually and operate strategically.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership and gain approval for recommendations.
  • Recognized for practicality and ability to deliver results.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in diverse environments and cultures.
