Salary Information:
- Recruitment range: $65,871 - $82,208 (starting salary is based on knowledge, experience, and internal equity).
- Performance range: starting salary to a maximum of $94,461 is achievable through annual performance evaluations.
Role Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Compensation and Recruitment, the HR Operations Specialist will support HR services, including benefits administration, disability management, compensation analysis, and recruitment efforts. This position collaborates with the Director of Total Compensation and other team members to manage program initiatives and contribute to departmental success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to supervisors and managers within established frameworks to effectively address HR-related inquiries.
- Develop and refine tools and resources to enhance program delivery across HR disciplines, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to formulate and implement HR policies and procedures, aligning with organizational objectives and compliance requirements.
- Assist in managing employee benefits programs, disability management initiatives, and compensation analysis while ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and university policies.
- Work with team members to oversee recruitment processes and systems.
Qualifications:
A university degree in a related field such as Human Resources Management, public or business administration, or another relevant discipline, along with a minimum of three years of experience in human resources within a multi-level, multi-union environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills:
- A commitment to promoting diversity and fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of HR regulations, practices, and policies, including recruitment, employment standards, and employee relations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- A solid understanding of information systems, business software, and data management.
- HR certification (e.g., CPHR, CCP) is an asset.
