Position Overview: Laboratory Technician B

AGAT Laboratories is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to support our Environmental Trace Organics laboratory. This role represents the second tier within our laboratory team. The selected candidate will receive guidance from the Laboratory Supervisor and will assist with essential laboratory functions and administrative tasks. This is a Seasonal position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute fundamental laboratory procedures, including the preparation of samples, reagents, and calibration solutions.
  • Provide general laboratory assistance, which includes cleaning glassware, maintaining work areas, and managing waste disposal.
  • Calibrate, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot intermediate-level instruments.
  • Compile, verify, and validate precise data records.
  • Adhere to quality assurance protocols and turnaround specifications.
  • Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures diligently.
  • Report analytical results accurately.
  • Conduct basic analyses as required.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in a scientific discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a laboratory setting, with foundational laboratory skills and familiarity with laboratory processes.
  • Experience with GC/MS or GC/FID Instrumentation is advantageous.
  • Proficient in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
