AGAT Laboratories is a leading provider of analytical services, with a strong presence in the Canadian market. Our team of experts is dedicated to delivering high-quality results in a variety of fields, including biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, geology, and engineering.

We are currently seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician A - GC & ICP Analyst to join our Forensics team in Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory activities with a high degree of independence, maintaining instruments and equipment, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data records.

Duties:

  • Prepare samples, reagents, and calibration materials as directed
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and conduct routine maintenance on assigned instruments
  • Compile, verify, and validate accurate data records
  • Meet quality assurance and turnaround specifications
  • Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Report results
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education with a technical diploma or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
  • 2+ years of laboratory experience with GC-MS, GC-MSMS, and ICP-MSMS required
  • Experience with Triple Quad Mass Spec (QQQ-MS) is an asset
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Able to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain analytical instruments
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Knowledge of full laboratory processes
  • Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast-paced environment
